A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is a background screening required by Baseball Alberta to help keep all participants safe. It confirms that individuals in positions of trust have no history that could make them unsuitable to work with children or youth.
Anyone 18 years or older as of May 1st of the current season and involved in baseball in a position of trust must complete a VSC.
This includes:
Coaches
Team Managers
Umpires
Team Trainers or Medical Personnel
Chef de Mission
A new VSC must be completed every three (3) seasons.
In Year 2 and Year 3 (after completing your initial VSC), you must submit an Application Declaration Form to confirm that nothing from your original background check has changed.
If your VSC or declaration form is not submitted before the start of the season, you may be ineligible to participate.
The RCMP require a personalized letter from RDMBA to process your VSC.
Fill out the request form below to receive your letter by email.
