Safety

Red Deer Minor Baseball Association places significant value on the safety of its players, coaches and spectators.

The ability to mitigate risk through proactive safety management strategies is key to ensuring a safe playing environment for all players.  Red Deer Minor Baseball Association coaches (Rep Program) are trained in NCCP techniques and standards to act in the best interests of its players.

Red Deer Minor Baseball Association is a fully insured organization that only utilizes CSA certified equipment.  Equipment selection is based on the age and the size of the athlete and in alignment with Baseball Alberta's rules and regulations.  Equipment provided by the athletes that falls outside of these standards will not be tolerated.

Safety awareness and assessment in the following areas is critical to our success in injury prevention:

  • Playing environment.
  • Weather.
  • Equipment condition.
  • Inappropriate behaviour of players, coaches and spectators.
  • Athlete medical conditions.

In the unfortunate event of a safety incident, preparedness and emergency response is dealt with through the use of emergency action plans as supported by Baseball Canada and NCCP  (National Coaching Certification Program) standard forms and procedures.
