Darcy Warawa Named Head Coach Of 2024 15U AAA Archon Braves!

Red Deer Minor Baseball Association is pleased to announce Darcy Warawa as the Head Coach of our 2024 15U AAA Archon Braves Team! 

Darcy is a highly respected, and accomplished coach, and we feel fortunate to have him at the helm of our 15U flagship team. 

Over the past 24 years Darcy Warawa has coached various age groups at the competitive level (AA & AAA) in Central Alberta.  During that time he's also coached at the Team Alberta, Canadian Jr. National Team and semi-pro international (Italy) levels.  For the past 3 seasons he's coached at the AA level in Stettler (13U & 15U - Tier 1) and Lacombe (13U - Tier 4), with those teams winning 4 Provincial Championships during that period.

Along with being NCCP Level 3 certified in baseball, Darcy also has entry level coaching certification in lacrosse, soccer, basketball and hockey as his sons have taken him down various athletic paths over the past 9 years.

He was the recipient of the 2021 Baseball Canada Grassroots Coach of the Year Award presented by Baseball Alberta.

Darcy grew up playing the majority of his minor baseball in Innisfail and Red Deer.  He also played at the Team Alberta level competing in both the Canada Cup and the Western Canada Summer Games.  He then went on to play 4 years at the U.S. collegiate level as an outfielder and a pitcher in Kansas and Missouri.

When Darcy isn’t busy with his various coaching commitments, he’s is a Power Lineman for FortisAlberta, a husband to Sasha and father to Mac and Shaw.    He and his family have resided in Lacombe for the past 7 years. 

With Darcy’s extensive knowledge, experience, and love for the game we have no doubt the 15U AAA’s will have a great season!
