RDMBA Rep Program Rules
RDMBA follows the rules of Baseball Canada.
League and Provincial play is governed by Baseball Alberta. Click for a copy of the Baseball Alberta Rules and Regulations.
RDMBA Mosquito Rec Rules
Supplementing the Baseball Alberta rules of play are a few guidelines established by RDMBA for the Mosquito age group.
RULES FOR MOSQUITO DIVISION:
- Games start 6:30PM sharp!
- No new inning commences after 8:30 PM
- Maximum six runs per inning/team
- Games are six (6) innings
- The entire lineup bats
- Stealing will be allowed, after the ball has crossed the plate. Players may not steal home.
- No player can sit out more than two defensive innings per game.
- 10 run "mercy' rule will be in effect after 4 innings (3.5 innings if home team leads)
- Unlimited substitutions are allowed on the field. Any pitcher removed from the mound cannot return to
pitching.
Pitcher
-A pitcher cannot catch in the same game. (Baseball Alberta rule)
-Pitchers may not pitch more than three innings per week.
Catcher
-A Catcher cannot pitch in the same game. (Baseball Alberta rule) - Home team will supply the game balls. - Home team will be responsible for preparing the diamond for play. This includes dragging the infield and chalking the base paths. - Home team will be responsible for scorekeeping. - The batter's box is rectangular in shape, 3'x6' and extends forward and backward from the centre of home plate 3' with the inside line 4 inches from the edge of the home plate.
Mosquito Playing Field
- Distance from the front edge of the pitchers plate to the back point of home plate will is 44'. - Distance between bases will be 60'.
Pee Wee Central Alberta League Rules
Home team is responsible to supply: three new baseballs, umpires & payment if required
- diamond in good shape – please drag before games, lines are nice but not a requirement
-Games start @ 6:30 PM sharp!
-No new inning commences after 8:30 PM
-Only six (6) runs per inning
-Games are seven (7) innings
-The seventh (OR LAST) is an open inning (three outs must be attained)
-The entire lineup bats
No player can sit out more than two consecutive innings.
-Unlimited substitutions are allowed on the field. Any pitcher removed from the mound cannot return to pitching.
Pitcher
A pitcher cannot catch in the same game.
-Pitchers may not pitch more than seven (7) innings per week.
Catchers
-A catcher cannot pitch in the same game.
-Home team takes infield @ 6:05- visiting team at 6:15
: Two overage players may be used providing that there is not a team available in their age division. One inning per game can be pitched by an overage player per game. These players must be identified on the score sheet with the initials OA beside the name.
Baseball Alberta Pitch count rules will be in affect for the PeeWee category. Information can be viewed and printed off of the baseballalberta.com website
PeeWee Playing Field
- Distance from the front edge of the pitchers plate to the back point of home plate will is 48'. - Distance between bases will be 70'.
RULES FOR BANTAM Central Alberta League
-Home team is responsible to supply: three new baseballs, umpires & payment if required,
- diamond in good shape – please drag before games, lines are nice but not a requirement
-Games start @ 6:30 PM Sharp!
-No new inning commences after 8:45 PM
-Maximum of six runs per inning per team
-The seventh (OR LAST) inning is an open inning (three outs must be attained)
-All games are seven (7) innings in length
-The entire lineup bats
-Unlimited substitutions are allowed on the field. Any pitcher removed from the mound cannot return to pitching.
Pitching
A pitcher cannot catch in the same game.
Catching
-A catcher cannot pitch in the same game.
Baseball Alberta Pitch count rules will be in affect for the Bantam category. Information can be viewed and printed off of the baseballalberta.com website.
